Casa Cardonal is in the real Mexico. Much of the local area is focused on farming and fishing and, while tourism is very important, it plays a smaller part of the total economy than it does in the Cabo San Lucas area.
Everywhere you go the people are friendly and welcoming. Nearly everyone will waive to you on the streets. There are a number of things to see and do in the area, including:
Walk the small town of Cardonal to see the church, pick up a few items at the mini-supermercado or dine at the taco stand across from the school yard. Everyone in town will introduce themselves.

 Rent ATVs at Punta Pescadero or in Los Barriles and explore the vast network of roads and arroyos into the Sierra La Gata foothills and the Sierra Laguna mountains. |
 Take the Casa's suburban to visit Los Barriles to enjoy its restaurants, cafes, tourist shops, equipment rentals, resorts, commercial services and grocery store. |
Dine at Surf and Turf restaurant located about one mile south of the Casa toward Punta Pescadero along the main road. |
 Take a guided ATV tour with Octavio to see the ancient petroglyphs and the desert arroyos. You will never find the petroglyphs without a guide and Octavio can help beginners with operating their ATVs and will set a excellent example of ATV safety for children and teens. |
Take the Casa's suburban to see the Punta Pescadero resort with its casual restaurant and bar.
